The project gave poetry to those crossing the Mexico/US border while helping them find available water.

The project creators found a constructive way to push the boundaries of the law. They combined art and activism into what they called artivism.

The project was displayed via mobile phones. It was a way to combine art and activism while teaming with NGOs to ensure that immigrants could travel safely.

Ricardo Dominguez, the person interview in the article, was one of the primary stakeholders. They also worked with two different NGOs who supply the water stations for immigrants. Other than that, UCSD was where the project was founded under Dominguez’s tenure there.

This version was primarily conceived for immigrants crossing the border, but it seems like there could be applications for trail-hikers in the future.

The goal of the project was not to break the law, but put a disturbance to it. There was nothing strictly illegal to have been found in what they had done, but there were plenty of governmental forces that did not like it.

They wanted to help those in need while not specifically breaking the law. It should create a disturbance amongst the people who see what is going on.

10: OUTCOMES: What were the results of this project?
One of the results was that they were investigated by a few Republican Congressmen, the FBI, and UCSD, where the project was taking place. There were never any charges brought on and UCSD eventually found that university money and labor was being used as originally proposed.
