1. CONTEXT:
The circumstances were the issues of immigration from one place to another, especially in relation to the Mexican-American border, and a need for these immigrants to find water sources as they crossed the border.
2. CONTENT:
The issues of crossings done by immigrants vs. the constant traversals of chemicals and trash from one side to the other. Immigrant restrictions are high, but chemicals and trash move much more freely.
3: FORM:
The poems and directions were given via phone, the recordings of poems being read allowed.
4. STAKEHOLDERS:
Invested in the project were Dominguez, students at UCSD, and EDT? 2.0/b.a.n.g. lab. Funds for the project came from UCSD.
5. AUDIENCE:
The audience was meant for immigrants journeying across the border, and the project has extended to include other borders as well.
6. ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES:
The project brought about a lot of controversy with UCSD, the FBI, the Republican Party and Fox News, so it extended much beyond just the immediate audience.
7. GOAL:
Goals were to explore the trans nature of borders and human interaction with borders, to bring to light the immorality of stopping the flow of human travel, while allowing for chemicals and trash to move freely.
8. VALUES:
It is believed that humans do not naturally exist under borders, and neither does nature, animals or water. They were expressed by bringing humans to natural water sources and by connecting poetry to the journey.
9. RESOURCES:
Poetry and videos can be found on Vimeo which were made of collaging photos, and recorded poetry. I'd like to know more about this segment overall though, because the article didn't go deeply in detail about resources specifically.
10: OUTCOMES:
The results were that Dominguez did not get indicted or lose his tenure, but gained exposure for the issue, and gained support from Water Station Inc. and Border Angels.
